## Product notes

- Closed-cell: about R-7 per inch; at roughly 1.5 inches it can act as a vapor barrier and air seal. Used on crawlspaces, rim joists, basement walls, pole barns, and exterior walls.
- Open-cell: about R-3.5 to R-4 per inch; vapor-open; used on interior walls, some attics designed to dry, and assemblies that are not the building’s weather shell.
- Blown-in cellulose or fiberglass: often used on an attic floor after air sealing, or a pole-barn ceiling when walls are foamed.
